Simple one pot spinach dish to be enjoyed with rice and ghee - Yummy....

Cooking time - 30 min
Ingredients
Amaranthus - 1 bunch
Toor dal - 1/2 cup
Tomato - 2
Onion - 1
Garlic - 5 pods
Chillies - 10 to 15 ( adjust as per your taste and tolerance)
Tamarind - 1 Tbsp
Rock Salt -1 Tbsp
Water - 4 Cups
Seasoning
Onions - 1/2 - finely chopped
Curry leaves - 6 to 10 ( leaving scope for personal preference)
Garlic - 7 pods - finely sliced.
Mustard seeds
Oil
Recipe
Wash greens, toor dal , tomato
Cut tomato in large chunks
Cut onion in large chunks
Put all the ingredients in the list above into a pressure cooker and cook it for 5 whistles.
Remove excess water
Mash all of this into a think rough paste ( I use electric processor for a quick 2 minutes )
Put a small pan on , add oil , when hot, put all the seasoning ingredients , once the onions are brown, out the seasoning into the green dal mixture.
Ola - Nice yummy pulgura is ready
How to eat
To be had with hot white rice and ghee for sure

If you are using your hands , you should not use your entire hand
No slurrping
No sounds
Close your mouth when you are eating
You are free to watch cable, netflix, prime, etc...when you are eating ( not recommended by the grand mother ... but the site is maintained by her daughter who feels rebellious once in a while)
